Holding up quite well. Some tertiary notes beginning to appear but otherwise remarkably fresh tasting. Other than a slight burn in the throat, it carries its humongous 15.5% alcohol well.

Dark coloring when poured with no bricking on the rim. Lots of dark fruit, along with a hint of pepper and leather. Rich mouth feel and smooth. Tannins lurking but muted. Probably around its peak.

Vino de color rubí y ribete abierto. La nariz ha desarrollado cierto bouquet, con toques de cuerdos finos, algún apunte de fruta licorosa y recuerdos de flores ajadas. La boca excelente, con un tanino vivo y pulido, notable frescura, suaves amargos y mucha persistencia. Elegante.

I found this wine to be particularly unpleasant. Nose is ripe to the point of being porty. Viscous texture, finishing with a petrol note that becomes very pronounced on the back palate. I don't believe bottle was defective, cork was in fine condition. I gave this a short decant, will re-visit later tonight to see if that strange petrol not blows off.

Drank this with a bison burger with Pimento cheese. Nice nose of dark berries, leathery(?), cigar. High tannins with a lot of fruit, alcohol on the back end. 3 more years?

Dark fruit, earth, tobacco on the nose, black cherries, white pepper, hints of vanilla and allspice on the palate. The finish was both lingering and lush. Great tannins and mouthfeel.
