Trio Infernal Priorat No. 1/3

Oak monster. A ton of wood on the nose and on the finish. The fruit was fairly muted upon opening. I got a little fruit after it was open for an hour. The wine seems to be a little over the hill so I gave it an "ok" score, but I think this wine was better in its prime.

Medium+ deep ruby. Rich dark cherry-vanilla nose started moderately sweet and warm and got eventually almost syrupy. In sharp coontrast with the flamboyant nose the palate was aristocratically cold. Med+ body, nice balancing acidity, good tannic structure, light lingonberrish bitterness. Warm finish, long aftertaste with some bitterness and traces of berry flavours. Very interesting, but rather too austere on the palate now, especially compared to the nose.
