Color, clear dark red. 1st nose, red fruits; 2nd nose, alcohol. On the palate, medium body, with good amount of fruits and sugars. Medium to long finish.

Color, deep red; 1st nose, neutral. 2nd nose, rose petals and chocolate. On the palate big body with some unresolved tannins. Medium to long finish. May be another year or two of cellaring will resolve the tannins.

Pretty restrained on the nose, just some black cherry fruit and dried rose petal. On the palate, medium bodied, with a peppery sharpness and more red fruit than dark. Not particularly structured, and little in the way of oak influence. Definitely a less ambitious approach, and nothing particularly expressive, but it has a freshness and clarity that elevate it above many cheap bottles.

acid at end, earthy

From a half-bottle, I paid 10 EUR for it. And the wine is pretty good. Very classical Bordeaux scent, good depth and intensity - of course it doesn't reach for the stars in terms of complexity or elegance but it's a perfectly decent and enjoyable left bank Bordeaux that expects (and deserves) to taken seriously. From the small bottle, it was already ready to drink. Borderline between 87 and 88 but I want to like this wine so it's 88 …
