Ziereisen Rhini

In der Nase dunkle Kirschen, mit Luft auch etwas Blaubeere. Dazu reichlich rohes Fleisch, sehr floral und dieser öfter mal deutschen Pinots zugeschriebene „Ziegelstein-Ton“. Außerdem etwas Rauch und bereits hier spürbar ganz wunderbar eingesetztes Holz. Am Gaumen frisch, mit sehr viel Zug, sehr saftiger Säure. Die Aromatik passt zur Nase, insbesondere auch den sehr fleischigen Biss finde ich wieder. Das toll eingesetzte Holz bestätigt sich hier mit schöner Haptik, dezent-zarter Würze und ganz leichtem Kakao-Ton. Das macht am ersten Tag …

Non-french Pinot Noir (Must & Lees, Warren Street) : By comparison to the other Spatburgunders on the table this evening this was dark and dense, though still at the lighter end of red wine. Great acidity, some spice and loaded with succulent red cherry. This wine has extra depth that rounds it out nicely. Enjoyable.

(Non-France) Pinot Noirs of North London (Must & Lees, Warren Street) : Big and plummy on the nose, with additional notes of black tea and cherry cola... not my preferred style. Then surprisingly rustic and savoury on the palate, with more cherry fruit. Somewhat disjointed and disappointing, although I'd be fine to drink this in a restaurant.

TWS North London - Pinot Noir ex-France (Must & Lees, Warren Street) : Fresh, juicy, bouncy and vibrant strawberry and raspberry. A bit of savoury grip, light and maybe a little lean on the palate

Deep, with crimson rim; big ‘n’ bold, dark fruits & similarly so on overbearing palate; unresolved tannins; stretched feel to finish. Best drunk up.

Needed time to open up - a rustic Pinot, like the style. Still has life in it, but drink within 2-3 years.

A big Spätburgunder from one of my favourite producers, HP Ziereisen. This feels despite it's 6 years of age very young with lively acidity and grippy tannins. But that nose! Oh my! Beautiful bouquet of red and black cherries, herbs, smokiness, black tea. None of that perfumed fruit that a lot of German PN have. On the palate, the wine has grip and still some edges. With age this will become even more beautiful – I am sure.

Wow. In der Nase rote, etwas schwarze Frucht, Kräuter. Rund, warm, viel Druck und langer Abgang. Toller Wein, der noch einige Jahre vor sich hat. Andere Stilistik als die Bündner Pinots. Etwas molliger, weniger klar, zupackender und doch elegant. Für mich ein Wein mit eigenständigem Charakter und ziemlich stylisch

needs a lot of air and/or needs more aging - quite tight to start out of the bottle but a very nice quality wine! Brilliant for German red

Weinmarketing Tag. Am ersten Tag völlig zugenagelt. Verschloßen, auch laut Fr. Ziereisen. Am zweiten Tag dann besser als am ersten Tag. Natürlich, unfiltriert, ursprünglich, schreit nach weiterer Flaschenreife! Darf nicht vor Ende 2020 getrunken werden. Wenn er vorher getrunken wird, benötigt er vermutlich mindestens drei Stunden Zeit in der Karaffe. Dunkle Farbe, dunkelfruchtig. Deutliche Säure, "Natürlich", spannend. 90-92 Punkte? Die letzten 5-6 cl am dritten Tag waren sehr gut! Tinken: 2020-2030? Best: 2022-2028?
