I think this is a bit bigger boned than the regular version. Less than 1000 cases made of this wine.

Agree with MIRICK, this is kind of all over the place. Mostly good, but kind of meanders in and out over a few hours open.

We struggled with this wine. At one point is was beautifully balanced with integrated fruit, acids and tannins. Unfortunately this was the exception. Most of the time it was either dominated, almost to exclusion, by acids or more likely tannins. We love Long Shadows, but think the drinking window was a couple of years ago

Drinking beautifully. Popped and poured at restaurant. Lovely ruby color and jammy syrah flavors.

A very concentrated, rich Syrah. The ripe, black fruit flavor is balanced with nice acidity to keep from being over the top, leaving a long-lasting flavorful ride.

Very big syrah with opulent, rich texture and loads of black berry and cherry fruit with hints of mint, cocoa powder tannins and cassis. Dark color. This can go another couple of years.

Shared this with good friends and a savory rib eye steak. Best argument for magnums as thi aged beautifully. Smooth as silk, rich and deep black fruit, perfect balance.

Lost to location error for 2 yrs...but that time contributed to some nice evolution. Excellent in all respects and just short of fabulous.

Ordered of the list at Hannah's, Mike and I decided to go "big" and I figured this would fit the bill. Definitely a concentrated big style wine but I was surprised at the balance and no sticky or residual sugar. Very dark purple color. Blackberry and smoky aromas. Flavor is driven by the same blackberry, toasted oak, and bramble. Medium plus finish. Slight warming mouthfeel but no overt alcohol notes.

Mostly American Wines; 7/2/2014-7/6/2014 : Dark purple color. Smokey and bold on the nose with black currants, black cherries and blueberries, all of it dark and deep, with a bit of beef jerky and charcoal thrown in as well. Solid tannic backbone, tamed by medium acid, the wine shows some chewy aspects but it’s also quite smooth (if that makes any sense). Black currant and blueberry fruit is juicy and rich and mixed in with an interesting combination of cedar, …
