Needs a day or ao of air. Structured and well made. Still has gas in the tank. Day one is no fun. Flavors of leathery plum, boysenberry, spice, neutral oak. Full body, alcohol spice, tannins, and lower fruit acid. Fun stuff.

Vintage still has a way to go. Wine of the night. Earthy, spicy tasting.

Wow. Just fucking wow... I let the wine slow ox for 3 hrs, had with elk bolognese. Flavors of bitter cocoa, juicy black plum, and sweet herbs (sage and lavender) with a minty, eucalyptus like finish. The mouth follows, but what I can't follow is how good of value this wine is... This is reminicent of great Super Tuscans or Left Bank Bordeaux. Fucking well done. I'd say the wine has arrived, but would drink well for another few years.

Pronounced cherry on the nose upon opening, flavors soften to dark fruit in the mouth. Dry medium tannins finish well. Enjoyed this wine, drinking very well right now.

Silky smooth pinot that tastes like cherry, strawberry. Finish is short.

A bit flat on the nose, takes a lot of swirling to coax out the blackberry cobbler and currant jam aromas, some underlying woodsy notes of leaves, loam and moss, but very subtle. Tart and a bit bracing on the palate, the tannins and dusty but still holding down the structure. The fruit tastes a bit tired though, like currants left out in the sun, and the fruit falls flat when compared to the toast and tannic structure. Some smoky, …

With veal scaloppini, sautéed pea pods, and mushrooms. Light garnet moving to a touch of rust at the rim. Dark berry/boysenberry nose. A bit tired, the palate a bit faded, earthy, unbalanced. I think past its prime.

Light garnet, enticing "come hither" nose. Smooth, silky pinot fruit, good balance, medium length.

I'm really a Cab guy, but this is my go-to grocery store Merlot... Nice structure, depth, a touch of dusty Sonoma earth, and chocolate. A well rounded wine; pairs nicely with almost any meat. I have been to the winery, it has a fun laid-back atmosphere reminiscent of smaller California wineries outside of Napa & Sonoma. I'm glad I can find this in North Carolina!

A very drinkable merlot. Plum notes, slightly acidic finish. Drinkable but could use another couple years.

The strong dark traditional pinot experience has mellowed. Quite nice red fruit flavors no over powering secondary flavors. The wine looks Garnet colored. The legs are Medium. It smells like Strawberry, Gooseberry, and Cherry. It tastes like Cherry, Fig, and Blackberry. The body is Medium/Full. The wine has Round texture. The wine finishes Short. Good merlot with food, even better on day 2. GunBun does a nice job with this grape.

A well-balanced wine, good fruit but not overly, another review described it as silky, which is spot-on. I wish I had more....

There's a lot of frui here. Black cherry or strawberry, underlying earthiness. Starting up a bit acidic and tart, but opens up and has a great silkiness. Enough fruit for a couple more years.

Outstanding example of what a Cali PN can be! This was a perfect accompaniment to cabbage rolls in red sauce.

Bottle breathed over 2 hours and drank over 2 hours Nose: Nice rich plummy nose with a chocolate brownie, cinnamon and cut stems Taste: Primarily dark fruit, nice grip from the tannins and a sense of freshness of the acidity lingering on the sides of my tongue. Some sweet spices on the palate as well. Moderate finish. Medium/heavy bodied wine but would have like a touch more fruit to hold up to the body. Overall still quite nice and would …

TR. Dark ruby red. Violets, blueberry, spice, and a bit of funk on the nose. Medium bodied, dirty raspberries, leather, drying tannins, mocha, and a medium finish. Well made, but I wouldn't call it delicious.

From 50ml tasting bottle. Very nice nose, could smell it across the room. On the palate is was nice and restrained, soft tannins, some creaminess and lots of black cherry. Not strong on Merlot character. Oak only shows up late into the very long finish, and is more creamy than sawdust-y. Would be a good everyday drinker.
