A basic lambrusco that delivers. It gives you what you are looking for. Some off dry notes.

Fruity but bone dry, nimble and fresh. True frizzante.

Gambero Rosso Tasting (Doltone House, Sydney) : Sour and slightly volatile, meaty, and savoury. Fruit is unripe, slightly green, textured grip is a little hard. More frizzante style. Feels like a wet vintage? Nah.

Opaque, foamy purple colour. Ripe berry, floral, and mineral nose. Dry with invigorating acidity and dark, juicy flavours; frothy, fresh finish with gentle bitterness from the tannins. 4/5

A buttery red? Yes. Slight funk, strong fruit. Cherry, watermelon. Lovely for the price point ($13.50)

11.5% -served chilled- Clear, med ruby with very light bubbles / clean, med intensity black fruits, dried raisin / dry, med+ acidity, light body, light tannin, med- intensity, short length and unidimensional. tastes like Welch's grape juice. It's past its prime as Lambrusco is at it's best within the year after bottling. However, I have to say that it's interesting to see it age a few years, but not sure I'll do it again...
