Domaine Georges Mugneret-Gibourg Ruchottes-Chambertin

Quite stylistically different than the Clos de Vougeot side-by-side, but this one has a bit more freshness, yet concentration. It flows beautifully, it brings you in multiple directions, blue/dark fruits, slight greenness, tiny griotte. The tannins are superb, silky. A meditative wine for me. I got told the grand-crus from these Noble ladies are de-stemmed vs. the over cuvées have some stems. That would explain part of my impressions here.

Grand Jury du Vin - Republic of Georgia and France; 10/1/2024-10/11/2024 (Republic of Georgia then Champagne, Dijon and Paris) : Expressive nose, super concentrated very ripe black fruit, perhaps a bit too ripe, blackberry concentrate, blackberry liqueur, a hint of animal, dark spices and earth. Gorgeous young wine. Waves of fruit. Quite sleek, elegant and deep. It's all about that fruit right now, hardly showing the full potential of this great site. Sadly harder than ever to find this wine.
