it seemed promising on paper, and on the nose… …but it didn't really pan out so well in the glass. it did not really meet my expectations for a California-style bordeaux blend; the wine just didn't seem to come together. it was drinkable, but unremarkable. (bottle was not flawed or defective)

A bit thin on opening but after about 45 min in glass develops a little more body and nose of briar, forest floor, and mild eucalyptus that turns into green pepper. Dark garnet and clean. Slightly tart red cherry entry on opening but really mellows with time into a nice red fruit, mildly tannic pleasant drink. Green pepper very much present which is the norm for the '11s throughout the valley. Decent acidity and a moderate length in the finish. …
