Slightly corked leading to a muted fruit profile and the associated challenged. Very (very) tannic, but put at a disadvantage by TCA.

Powerful, red fruits, heavy tannins, dry, bold

V: mid garnet with some brick N: chocolate, vanilla, floral, dried raspberry P: raisin, dark chocolate, coffee Opening: tight, muted, no fruit 1 hr: hint of raspberry 2 hr: strawberry with a hint of sweetness. Much more balanced. Strong grippy tannin, moderate acidity. Dominant secondary and tertiary flavors with fruit appearing after decanting. 89/100

Light nose of cherries and roses; restrained. Tightly wound at this stage. Suggestions of balsamic. Hold.

nice dark purple/black color. old world musty nose, very pleasant on the palate. mild tannin, some new fruit/cherry/strawberry. I would recommend 3-5yrs more in the bottle or decant several hours before consumption.

Decanted an hour before drinking Red fruit (raspberry, cherry), nice floral- rose, spice, slight earth, good acidity. Bright. Lingering finish. Really enjoyable. 91+

Ignore the professional critics, give this till at least 2025. Tons of grip. Dusty tannins, wine will be better when some of them fall out.

Ann went to Costco today, and brought this home to serve to me blind. Very slight bricking on the rim. At times there was a very faint whiff of cork taint. Lots of everything thing here. Very ripe fruit, bordering on over ripe. Highish acidity. Loads of tannin. 14.5% listed alcohol seems higher. I know this can’t be that old, but the bricking on the rim and then high tannin and acid are telling me Nebbiolo. Modern style. Guessing 2018? …
