40% Brancellao, 20% Caiño Longo, 20% Caiño Redondo, 20% Ferrol; Native yeasts. Aged 12 months in used French 300l barrels. Fairly dark tone but not dense color. The nose has a reductive, earthy Burgundy like character at first. Touch of spice. But it quickly turns to pretty red fruit and floral notes. The palate is tart, medium-light bodied with some minerality. Low alcohol. Very Pinot. Very much a versatile food wine. https://winediplomats.com/

Truly a wonderful bottle from one of my favorite producers, it is all in equipoise: smooth, ripe black fruit along with earthy, herbal aromas and flavors; there is a juiciness from the fruit and the acidity to balance it out and make it refreshing to drink, with a reasonably long finish. Tremendous!

ruby colored with faint bricking at the edges. nose of crushed blackberries, black cherries, dried beef, black pepper, pyrazines, and turned earth. medium bodied with fresh acidity. palate is very savory, lithe, and elegant with more dark fruits. fine drying tannins on the back end. finishes long. excellent and in prime drinking window.

Loved this. Savory dark fruits and peppery, but with bright acidity. Reminds me perhaps of a crozes. I wouldn't age this, too delicious now. Great value.

Full bodied but also very fresh and energetic. Good fruit, but with some earthy notes as well. Great at the price.

drank just as well and a bit differently on day 1 and day 2. medium density dull ruby color. purple fruits, black pepper, and green pepper on the nose. maybe a twinge of animal fat. light and fresh. like really fresh. crunchy red apple skin and ripe plum flavors. chiseled granite bolsters the fruit. fine sandy tannins dry out the end. tart aftertaste. good length on the finish. stellar and age-worthy as always from this producer.

Brief / vague note. Extremely elegant and low abv, making this a joy to sip with a casual dinner. Somewhat aromatic. Palate was quite fruity, but you can tell the structure is there, with underlying powdery tannins. Overall could use 1-2 years to settle down, but already drinking really well. Very inviting wine to sip with a spicy ropa vieja.

** (very close to three stars) I didn't know quite what to expect from this wine, tho the reviews were very positive. "Smooth, rich and lovely" definitely fits, but it's more than that. On PnP, a light weight, slightly fruity and beautifully balanced red. Various red fruit notes melded together into a harmonious ensemble that, by its structure, just wouldn't let you stop taking another sip. Quite an achievement, kudos to the winemaker. Wish I could do it better justice, …

Absolutely loved this bottle. Had this with a paprika garlic chicken and it was the perfect complement. Smooth, rich, and lovely. Time to find more!

Super cool wine. Not what I usually like stylistically, but this is great. Super aromatic, in a very interesting way. Very spicy and savory on the nose. Almost meaty. I get crushed black pepper and almost back on the nose. Just a touch of red fruit but the nose is dominated by spice. On the palette, the wine is well balanced, with very good acidity. Low tannin, I would say medium bodied. Palette confirms the nose, with slightly more red …

these louis a wines are on point! meat and pepper nose. silky smooth, medium bodied, freshly acidic. juicy blackberry flavor goes more savory by the second day showing soy and licorice. mild fine tannin on the back end with a very long finish. unique, energetic, refreshing, uber drinkable but with plenty of depth and complexity to contemplate. will age. gotta start hoarding these.

Wow...smoky, tart blackberry juice. Feral but clean...this is absolutely delicious and reminds me of a good Collioure. A lot of wines try to toe this line but often end up skunky and bacterial. Very impressive and has the tannins to age.

dark crimson color. meat, dehydrated red fruits, gray stone, and pepper on the nose. light to medium body and acidic. palate is pleasantly green with a very mild strawberry profile and a lightly tannic, medium finish. second day improved- acid burned off a bit and adopted a burgundian savory character. third day- man this is really going to age well. nose took on some sawdust and truffles. fruits muted and tannin barely hanging. really smooth going down.

Even blend of Caiño Longo, Caino Redondo, Brancellao, Ferrol with native yeasts in 300 L old used French barrels. From memory, juicy tart plums, red and black fruits, earth, minerals, elegant medium bodied wine. Nice lingering finish. Really good wine but not spectacular. Went really well with homemade pizza.

This was a charming bottle of wine. took a little while to strut its stuff, but very enjoyable after a double decant and a bit more air. There is green note to these wines that I find very attractive, it's not under ripeness just kind of mulchy, undergrowth character. Medium bodied, good length and real character.

Simply delicious. Debonair Berry flavored mountain stream water flowing over gleaming stones, with just the right amount of tar and earth. Not a "light" wine, per se, but a floating weight that skates across he palate. Really impressive, and yes it can go blow for blow with Burgundies and Barolos.

A private dinner (Restaurant Sacha, Madrid, Spain) : A blend of 40% Brancellao, and roughly equal parts of Caiño Redondo, Caiño Longo and Ferrol. Fermented with native yeasts in stainless steel, matured in used 300 liter French oak barrels for 12 months. Silky, mineral and spicy, pure and transparent, lovely softness from ripe red berries, fragrant rose petals, hint of fresh red meat, brisk but ripe phenolics from the skins, fresh and tight, good length.
