Giacomo Montresor Ripasso della Valpolicella Castelliere Della Guaite

I am very impressed with this Valpolicella. It's thick and jammy like a less expensive Amarone, though without the wonderful earthiness that I love in an Amarone. At $35 it's priced like a great wine should be, so I'm a bit disappointed in not having found an economical gem for everyday consumption. Nonetheless, this is a wine that I can serve to company with a big, heavy meal and receive raves. I'll buy this one again.
