Tsantali Makedonikos

I don't know what grape this is (possibly a Greek varietal such as Αγιωργίτικο, i.e. Aghiorghitiko), but I don't care for the aroma. Thin, translucent colour, red with a brightness to it. On the palate, better than the aroma! Nice and (moderately) tannic. The Makedonians established their winemaking over 2,300 years ago. $10 for a litre. Will probably use the rest for developing a pretty good stew broth.

Restaurantkøb i Athen. Serveret alt for varm men nedkølet efter ønske. Farven er transparent og med en rubin farve, duften er ikke markant. Smagen tynd, krydderet og med lidt sødlige toner. Meget kort eftersmag og generelt en bordvin der skal serveres afkølet på en varm terasse.

Blind tasting Dark ruby red Aroma: oak and rubber on the nose Medium body and quite rough tannic. Fruity palate with vanilla and ripe plums. Medium to good length
