Clos Henri Pinot Noir Petit Clos

beautiful medium ruby colour with a strawberry hue; clean and clear. nose: full fruit - strawberries, raspberries, cranberries, rowanberries; very good intensity, tart; some tobacco, some ash and sweet spice (cinnamon, all-spice). taste: high acidity, soft, ripe, medium (+) volume tannins; rhubarb, strawberries, raspberries, rowanberries; tobacco; medium (+) spicy finish; good flavour intensity. Excellent usage of old, large wood.

Mince et tannique. Bizarre de combinaison. Petits fruit et chauffe, pas aimé du tout!

En lätt Pinot med toner av jordgubb och frisk syra i ganska lång eftersmak. I princip ingen beska i eftersmaken, vilket jag uppskattar. En utmärkt Pinot att dricka i Pergolan en sommarkväll. Mycket Pinot för pengarna!

For a truly inexpensive pinot noir this hits the spot. I disagree with the note below about it being tannic but maybe it’s because the bit of tannins they noticed have resolved. I do agree it’s thin, but that can be good in a weekday wine and it also means it hides its 13.5% ABV well. QPR is good at US$10 and under. Blind tasting. Pretty red fruit nose but thin and a bit tannic. A reasonably good expression of inexpensive Pinot noir, but not to be served anyone who has had something better.
