Beautifully resolved wine from South America. A true gem. Wish I could find more bottles.

aromatically complex with notes of fig, coffee, dark raspberry, grilled meat, dried bay leaf and rosemary. The palate is full bodied, concentrated, round, enveloping and still quite primary. It has subtle yet structural tannins expressing whole mouth and tightening up the long finish. It’s always been an accessible wine with something that people at all tasting levels seem to appreciate. This has improved significantly since my last bottle in 22. To be consumed with an 1 hour decant and at …

No detailed notes taken. This wine is not a Malbec from Argentina, it‘s in it‘s own category, by far better than everything else out there. Complex, intense, mineral-driven with restraint; structured, elegant, and full of finesse. Category defying and defining. Wow. 96+pts. Decanting: No extensive decanting needed.

Smooth, with a little heat on the finish Some cherry but leather, chocolate, and earth seem to dominate.

So much for waiting 5 years (per my last tasting 6 months ago). An opportunity arose to try it again. This bottle in better shape - still big, but more rounded, richer, smoother and easier to drink. Maybe I don’t have to wait years to try the rest :)

Nose oscillating between vanilla and cherry Very fluid mouth with a juice of enormous density which has the quality to stretch all the way without heating up. However, although the structure is superb, the wood load is too heavy and the wine has not yet fully digested it. The wood functions here as a veil that hides the development of the wine, which has a very beautiful texture. Only alcohol manages to pierce this straitjacket, and it's a shame given …

Even with more than 3 hours in a decanter this is still overwhelming - very strong vanilla / oak flavours. With even more time in the decanter / glass, it begins to come together and show true potential. But I’m not going to touch the other bottles from the case for perhaps 5 years

Decanted 1,5 hours. Still prettty young. For me not as good as the 2013 I had recently, but still a very good wine. I would recommend to decant it at least 1 hour maybe better 2. 93(-) pts. at the moment.

Gorgeous rich concentrated blackberry and blackcurrant fruit but at the same time this has a refined elegant poise. Good acidity, refined tannins and oak. Moderately long finish, fairly straight forward. Drink now and through next 10 years.

An eye opening Malbec once again. Requires decanting and care and unfortunately this time we rushed it and the wine was albeit colder than it should but with time it delivered once again. Bold and muscular yet elegant, balanced and really this has another 20years of lovely evolution ahead of it. 94

A Malbec to change ones view on Malbec as this is in a league of its own. The wine came at the end of a long lunch , no decanting and just shown in both quality and elegance. We usually walk away very fast from argie Malbec but this just drew us in. Nice elegant fruit, bold fruit but also soft and in balance with the wine. Nothing out of tune, very harmonious and with a 5 minute long finish. …

This was the best Malbec I‘ve ever had. Period. Not too fat or not not fresh enough, not too ripe and jammy. The highlight is the aromatic profile which is high-alpine and very terroir-driven. The wine is cool, fresh and elegant. I’m not a big Malbec drinker but I‘ve I could choose, I would trade all the 30 or so Malbecs in my cellar for just another three pack of this beauty. This is quite singular and worth the high …
