Surprisingly full body for almost 20 years old. Earthy cab vibes, tobacco and leather at the top, nectarine at the back and a couple of raspberries hiding at the bottom of the glass.

Didn´t keep my last bottle which in contrast to the previous one was fully mature but still life for at least 10 years. Full bodied, fruity and a lot of fun to drink.

On opening I was not sure, not yet mature, on the decline, or simply a bad wine? After one hour decant it opened up and became an enjoyable medium bodied wine. I will keep my remaing bottle for at least 3 years, because this chateau seems to be a long distance runner.

Bitter and metallic. Ok to drink alongside a meal, but not round enough for pure drinking pleasure.

A touch of leather and fungus plus dark berries and cherry on the palate. An easy and straight forward but enjoyable wine. Low acidity, nicely integrated tannins, and smooth finish.

Nose: Aromas of dust, moss, blackberry and a hint of pencil lead. Palate: At 8 years old tannins are soft and supple yet still quite dry with mostly secondary flavors of earth and spices. There are some dark fruits but they are subtle so this should be drunk up, and if decanted, would recommend just a splash decant only.

Schwierige Phase? Nase noch vielversprechend, dann ausgezerrt, bitter im Abgang.

Two hours in the decanter. Dark ruby-garnet in colour with a nice nose red berries, cherry pie, and a hint of raspberry. The palate's composed of cherry preserves, dark tobacco, and some licorice and cassis. Still has the tannins to last for a few more years, though am unsure if the fruit will last longer than that. Medium body with a medium finish.

Subtle nose of dust, cherry, and spice. On the palate a light wine with similar qualities to the nose. Medium finish and soft tannins. Drink now.
