Dark ruby red. Aroma of mocha and dark blackberry fruit. Some orange peel. Taste is acidic, tannic, and energetic, that offers substantial structure and focus. One can even detect a minerality too. Good wine, excellent QPR.

This was a pleasant, tasty rioja that seemed quite young and took quite a while to open up (2-3 hours in a decanter). Very nice bottle of wine for $10, although I don't see the 91 pts bestowed on it by Wine Spectator. 87-88 pts.
