Vanguardist Wines Mourvèdre Blewitt Springs

Well integrated tannins, good amount of violets on the nose and very fresh red fruits and berries on the palette. Not the most silky mouthfeel but this is very good. Delightful.

Lifted nose, very perfumed and there’s some meaty reduction to it. Touch of candied cranberrires, suggesting partial carbonic (?) but in the best possible way. There’s a combination of earthiness and pure strawberries that even might lead some to Pinot. With some swirls it gets more stemmy, with a profile not unlike L’Anglore Tavel had recently. Much more fruit driven on the palate with tannins akin to Pinot, so elegant and just glides through. Cured meats hit towards the finish …

More floral than the '22, with a bit more lift to the aroma. Dark cherry and plum fruits. Full and textural, spicy and long. Terrific build. Developing nicely with plenty more in the tank.

Perfectly ripe briary red fruits. There's some ironstone lurking. It has mid-palate flesh, but is contained. There's an earthy/savoury edge to the wine, gravelly tannins and perfect balance. It is a fresh and joyous wine to drink, with moderate chew to the long finish.
