2/6. Drunk with spaghetti bolognaise with no decant. Deep purple in colour. Lots of powerful cassis aromas on the nose. Lovely pure blackcurrant flavours on the palate along with a touch of spice. Good concentration, weight and tannic grip but also very smooth. This has developed nicely since our first bottle a year ago but is still quite primary so would seem to have lots of time ahead of it yet.

1/6. Decanted two hours before drinking with lasagne. Deep purple in colour, cassis on the nose, fresh and fruity blackcurrant, cedar and spice on the palate. The tannins made their presence known but the intensity of the fruit made them come across as soft and mellow. Medium body, medium acidity, medium finish. A well balanced wine that paired nicely with food and should develop favourably for a number of years.
