chilled then pop n pour. cherry, dark fruits, leathery, goes in and down dangerously easy like all clesi wines. the montepulciano is showing here. not as savory as I remember tasting it at the vineyard, a little more fruit balances the arid red earth and dusty herbs (wild sage? dried mexican oregano?). open for business now but there might be aging potential. this label shows more finesse and balance compared than most clesi wines I've tasted. Tasted at the winery - montepulciano, sagrantino, Sangiovese; meaty this is savory. Sanguine. Restrained fruit. Dusty finish. Balance. Clarity. I really like this, maybe it's the Sagrantino qualities about this that're so intriguing. Definitely recommend to anyone into savory rhone varietals that're so common in Paso Robles.
