Crystalline plums, crisp alpine air and fir, rose, ethereal and deceptive concentration given the light color. No alcohol on nose or palate but more punch than expected. Reminds me more of a cold climate Pinot in weight but with classic Nebbiolo flavors. Can sense the cold climate in this wine. This wine transports you to the mountains.

Excellent foil to some Piedmont classics. Would definitely seek out again

in a really good spot took about 30 min to settle down in the glass then classic nebbiolo cherry/fruit in the background of predominant italian earth but with differences compared to barbaresco or barolo nebbiolos a tasty treat with [a little] more room for development shared with no one over a 3 day drinking period

Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of a few hours. The 2013 Inferno Sesto Canto Riserva pours a luminous, pale garnet color with a transparent core. Medium+ viscosity and no staining of the tears. The nose is soaring out of the gate with remarkably pretty red fruit notes: strawberries, raspberries, cherries, red flowers, rocky earth and exotic spices. On the palate, medium+ tannins and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long and hugely satisfying. …

Bitter. Little bit tart. Still pretty grippy, tannic, but still light and smooth. Light color, shows 10 year age. Citrusy. A little sour? Probably won’t buy it again +++++ Update I had actually decanted whole lot longer. And, wow. It couldn’t have been more different. This wine really opens up. Beautifully done. Updated to 92

Perhaps the shyest of the 2013 riservas we've yet tried. High acid, balsamico. Attenuated nose. Forest floor, mushroom, hint of suede. Pretty, if lacking the seduction we've felt in some of the other cuvées. Very presentable but needs a bit more time to come together.

An incredibly refined product with a silky mouthfeel, medium plus acidity and fine-grained tannins that show the pedigree of this producer. The nose is a lovely blend of red berries, flowers, and soil/iron, but is relatively 'toned down' for Nebbiolo. Likewise, the palate showed satin-textured red fruit and minerality, with a hint of typical Nebbiolo tar and those seductively smooth tannins and acidity. I would happily drink this again, although the price is a bit steep for the overall performance. …

ArPePe study (Ora et Labora, Portland OR) : The nose is fresh and vibrant with lifted tones of red cherries, incense, balsamico, strawberries, herbal spices, earth notes, and rose petals. There is a good bit of nuance to this nose that really requires a bit of attention. It is perfumed and well layered while still retaining a lot of freshness. The Medium/full bodied feel is deft and refined with tart, high acidity and silky, high tannins. This is drinking extremely …

A perfect example of the style here. Very light in body and then grabs with leather and spice and dried florals.

Fabulously complex on the nose, some mushroom yet also with some rising floral notes. The palate is softer than I would expect, quite transparent, strawberries and a hint of balsamic. Rather delicious and approachable but not necessarily profound.

In a Nebbiolo blind with mostly Barolo this was the winner - “what you want from good Neb”. Tar, roses, plums on the verge of starting to prune, rhubarb, gravel

Sat wine swap sharing. Drank in Gabriel Standart. Appearance is clear, pale intensity, ruby colour. Legs. Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of earth, erthy red berries, ripe strawberry, dark red/black cherries, touch of dried herbs, alpine mint. Developing. On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium alcohol (13%), fine high tannins, medium+ body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of stony minerality, mildly rustic earth, sweet dark red cherries, dark red plum, earthy red berries, strawberry with a minty green …
