Absolutely great. While the cork was saying - I'm done - the wine was far from done. It sang from the opening taste through a long evening of tastes. The flavors are well summarized by recent postings. There is a reason Bedrock has taken over our cellar!

Opened November 2025 with Coravin Pivot at about 60 °F. Nicely mature and showing classic Bedrock character—dark cherry, blackberry, and gentle spice with smooth tannins and good balance. Drinking beautifully now; no need to hold longer. 90 pts.

Old Vine California Wines on the back deck; 10/6/2025-10/10/2025 (Mi Casa, Forestville CA) : Popped this for an Old Vine Party on Saturday night, note from day 4 (Wednesday). Raided the cellar late in the party and pulled this one. Didn’t get much of a look as only a few ounces were gone. Color is still dark burgundy red turning opaque in the middle. Nose has blackberry, earth and some VA which detracts from the aromatics. Fruit is beautiful, juicy, …

Library release. For my taste, this is way past its optimal drinking window. I love these for their youthful exuberance and freshness, but this was just tired. I had a similar experience with the 2015 a few months ago. Based on these experiences, I’m tentatively defining my optimal OVZ drinking window as 3-6 years post vintage. YMMV.

Uber balanced and a bit past peak, but very enjoyable. Same rating as 8 years ago, although the experience is different - beautiful tart berries this time.

Classic BR zin with an additional bit of cinnamon at the start, followed with the introduction of a candied lemon acidity swell, then opens more fully with red berries and finishes with a round full flavor profile. The laurel comment in recent TN resonates with us. Superb.

Quick decant. Nose of blackberry, blueberry, and patchouli. Black pepper acidity leads to boysenberry, wild blue fruits, and blueberry pie, with a clay and mineral backbone. The rounded tannins on the finish still show some heft, with black berries, wild herbs, tarragon, and a touch of anise seed before the oak finishes it off.

Quick decant. Nose shows bay leaf, garrigue, dried wild berries, and some oak barrel. The wild berry palate is quickly overrun by wild herbs, white pepper, and acidity. Velvety tannins, oak, funky cola, and red fruits with more acidity to end things. Fruit has faded a bit too much for our tastes.

Quick decant. Nose of balsa wood with raspberry and laurel underneath. Palate delivers a dazzling and fresh array of red raspberry, tart watermelon, and wild red berries with red flowers, spice, and lots of acidity. Caramel, spicy black cherry, fresh mint, soft tannins, tea leaves and embracing white oak on the finish. Amazing what this is delivering nine years in!

Purchased direct from Bedrock during a recent library release. The cork was intact, ullage was appropriate and no signs of seepage but the color was a slight rust with cloudy hue. The flavor was vinager/sherry-like. Not sure what happened but didn't see any signs of heat damage or seepage but the wine was undrinkable and i had to pour it out :( I have 2 more bottles left, hopefully they are a better experience.

Quick decant. Nose of red berries, red currant, and an astringent Windex-like note. Rounded red cherry fruit with copious herbs backed by a sharp, tart cranberry acidity. The cranberry continues into the finish, adding round stones, black tea, drier herbs, and aged oak. This wine has gone a bit on the tart side, but it is still fun to drink.

Red fruit, pepper, tobacco leaf. This does not drink like a 10 year old wine. Beautiful structure, deliciously smooth palate, long finish with medium tannin. Still lingering a bit primary in profile. I will say this again and again: no better wine value than OVZ.

Things started out testy with a shattered cork and “muted” wine. We gave it 10 mins in the decanter and that did just the trick. Beautiful bouquet of muddled black + blue fruits, spice, and a touch of savory on the back of the palate. Medium finish with a bit of tannin. Great wine, and it’s no surprise based on its components. Will likely stay at this level for another year.

This was in an excellent place. No idea why others have said it's past prime. Plenty of deep dark fruit alongside lots of savoury secondary character. I guess if a non-fruit-bomb Zin is anathema then at 11+ years old this may not be your jam, but it's a great wine in a great place for me.

Color: Deep red with brown at the edge Nose: hint of funk, leather, fruit, dried cherry Palate: Earth and leather with fruit and a structured tannic core. Opens up to lush plum or cherry -- scratch that, black raspberry! On day two, still leathery and fruity with streaks of something starburst like, really good acid follow through. More red berries. Alcohol shows through a bit at the end. Winebid purchase, really enjoyed this.

This is clearly bigger and bolder than the 2016 OV Zin. More depth, more extraction, but not over the top in any way. Fruit has maybe the barest hint of roasted character. Otherwise, just a very good Zinfandel at this stage in its life. Needed a little air and warming up to room temp (70F) to really come into focus and strut its stuff. This should at least hold for a few more years, if not evolve further.

The quality of this wine is evident…big flavors, long finish, and great mouthfeel. I’m neutral on because the flavor profile was a giant fennel bomb that really overwhelmed the orange and hints of vanilla. You never know now a wine is going to turn out after years of proper cellaring. In a great drinking spot now…has maybe a year or two at best before it is past peak.

Unexpected find (lost) in the cellar. The fun of having wine stored in multiple locations around the country. Still very primary. Left the last glass for almost a week in the fridge in a savino as an experiment. Amazingly still very pleasant. I'm starting to wonder if some of the Bedrock reds are vampire wines. I think most in my cellar will long out-live me, and I have quite a few years left before I retire!

Deep ruby coloured - a little garnet at the rim. Powerful nose with juicy, ripe raspberry and a little tarry character. It’s lush and powerful on the palate, the alcohol giving lots of body but there’s enough acidity and dusty tannins to stop it being jammy. Via Coravin.

Quite a simple nose, dominated by a lush black fruit character. On the palate it's dense and powerful but not over the top. Full of juicy black fruits and ripe blueberry, maybe a little floral note too. The tannins have a chalky edge, there's just enough acidity and a nice oak character on the long dry finish. A touch of alcohol on the back of the throat. Via Coravin.

Dark red color with no bricking or other signs of age. The nose is Rhône or even cab like with a bit of VA lift to the scent. Red fruit taste is bright and juicy, but a bit hazy on the palate. Good acidity keeps this fresh. Finishes with a bit of old barrel taste and grippy tannins that are slightly drying on the medium length finish. On the second night I’m getting more sour cherry, Ludens cherry cough drop …

Lovely Zin, much better than last bottle. Beautiful dark fruit and integrated tannins. A nice touch of acidity keep you coming back for more...PNP. Paired wonderfully with Marinated pork tenderloin with a smoked ham shank and shallot cream sauce, green beans and mashed sweet potatoes (with a hint of cinn and orange zest).

Fruit was gone and a thin acidity predominated, i.e. way over the hill. Was stored at 65F the entire time. Was hoping for more. Hope my remaining two bottle have more left in them.
