Famous winery of Savennieres. Dosage 4g/l. Light yellow. Aromas of pear, yellow apples, citrus, toast, white flowers. Medium+ acidity, medium body, fresh, well made.

Light green with lots of microscopic bubbles. Brioche and green apples on the nose . Tart, approaching walnut shell bitter (especially in the finish) with a very creamy texture. Great acids and a lengthy green apple and walnut shell finish.

Better with cheese, but without the chèvre it was pretty bitter.

Very dry and sharp as opposed to the creamier style I normally prefer. That said, I enjoyed this and would buy more at $30 (NZ).

(14/20) Kick-off of our Baumard Clos du Papillon vertical tasting with 5 vintages. But bubbles first ?? Decent Crémant, but nothing special. Bit bitter and very metallic, good length. Medium intense aromas of white grapefruit, white peach, gooseberry, lemon zest, white blossom, almond, marzipan, wet iron. Dry wine, high acidity, light body, medium+ flavour intensity, medium+ length finish. 12,5% ABV - Papillon tasting @ Koert

Generous mousse, fine bubbles. Juicy and lifted. Piercing citrus and steeliness. Clean, balanced, agreeable finish.

A blend of 30% Chenin Blanc, 40% Cabernet Franc and 30% Chardonnay grown on schist, direct press, cool fermentation, 18 months sur lattes, disgorged October 2022, dosage 4-5 gr/l. Direct and fresh, crisp acidity and smoky minerality, floral and peppery notes, good fruit (apple, citrus), almonds and yeast, silky mousse, noticeable herbaceous bitters, tangy citrus finish. Good value.

almost sour and not very balanced. nothing great. wouldn't recommend

Appealing aromatics! Fine bubbles. Substantive yet light. Delightful textures. Serious acid and balance. High quality finish. 88-89.

A good starter bubbs. Fresh, bright, citrus, stonefruit. Clean bubbles/finish. Slightly creamy palate, very drinkable.

Fairly straightforward but enjoyable and a good value. Mixed orchard fruits, with light citrus peel, yeasty, and waxy character. Good texture, reasonably small bubbles. Tastes good, fairly dry while staying juicy and friendly, refreshing. Decent acidity; maybe it could use a little more, but it works. Fairly short finish, apple and lemon peel.

Nose: Palate: Meh. Acidic.

Like others from the Vancouver area, this was stripped of flavour, and I think it was cooked at some point of its journey here. Flawed.

A private dinner (Restaurant Rijsel, Amsterdam, NL) : No detailed notes. Pleasant, plush and aromatic.

Drank a week ago, from memory this was quite weird, candied, flabby and with a strange soft but bitter finish. This is pretty much as low as I score a non flawed wine.

Lovely Crémant de Loire. Fresh, crisp, elegant, not very complex. Blend of mainly Cabernet Franc, and a bit of Chardonnay and Chenin Blanc, aged on the bottle for 12 months. Dosage 5-6 gr/l. Medium intense aromas of pear, apricot, bit of yiesty tones and a touch of camomile in the distance. Light bodied palate with high acidity and flavours of peach, fresh apricot, yellow apple, lemon. Long, toasty finish. 12,5% - €16,50 @ De Gouden Ton

Massive mouse upon pouring nand then poof... nothing ! Decent nose of yeast and green apple. Decent acidity but really nothing that stands out pertaining to palate. Short finish., a bit austere. I think it’s well made just think I could do better with other 25$ sparklers.

Pour le prix c'est bien, assez gras et ample...pour un peu moins cher, le Bailly-Lapierre en donne plus.

This having aged a bit in my cellar was brought alongside champagne, cremant and sparklers from around the world. This is such a fresh treat and so easily drinkable. It tastes dry until you compare it side by side with a Brut nature champagne or zero dosage, but not off dry or sec. you can compare it with a dry Prosecco and the Prosecco will have the sweeter edge, but this is creamier and as good if not better with …

I'm sorry if this doesn't fit everybody's idea of French sparklers. I love the stuff and wish I had another case.

SCCM Conference; 1/21/2017-1/25/2017 (Honolulu, HI) : Light yellow-golden color; nose has a nice elegant very slight yeast, more prominent white fruit with some peach; palate has a nice mousse, good fruit, a slight tartness through the midpalate; short-medium finish. Nicely made and a good value for the retail price. 87-88

I really like this sparkler. Great price to quality and a nice change from the basic champagne variety of sparkler. Good mineral to go with the fruit.

I love Cremant d'Loire, but again I really like Chenin, which dominates the nose and palate although only 40% when compared to cab franc juice being 60%. I let this sit and it thickened, had plenty of mineral going on, with good acidity, light melon and tropical fruit, some pear/quince, a touch of sweetness kissed things as you held it in the mouth. A very quenchable alternative to a Bourgogne or California, sparkler, especially with body and mineral. Drink only …

Light and not overly complex but good nose and delightful on the palate. Enjoyable and good QPR.
