Delicious! A touch more RS than I am used to with Mosel Spatelses but I was totally game. All green apples and nectarines on the nose with a kiss of petrol. Super expressive and precise. Overall a marvelous bottle with great QpR. Enjoyed w Eric, Izzy, and Jenna at Sun Wah BBQ

A Britt wine.... Lime flesh in color. Honey dew melon. Hint of match stick. Light petrol notes. A little spritzy. Green apples. Nice acidity. Not too sweet. Should age well. An excellent bottle of wine. Easy patio sipper on a hot sunny day in Vancouver.

Berserker Offline (Mezze and More) : Interestingly this comes across as a fair bit sweeter than the 2001 auslese. Rich and impressive on the attack, with a profusion of apricot fruit and flowers, with just a bit of diesel. Sort of stumbles a bit on the back of the palate - a bit hollow and lacking persistence.

in remembrance of Wilhelm Haag: Soft sweet and delicate Rieslng juice. Well integrate apple & pears drowned in honey. Canned pineapple and peach, and still a fine acidity on top of the Riesling minerality. Not my favorite style but I like this a lot!’ 🍽 Excellent with Dutch traditional Appelflappen 🛠8%Alc 🍇💯%Riesling 🛒Fritz Haag in Brauneberg, 19€

This was more an auslese style, with a rich, sweet, creamy flood of mainly stone fruit and tropical fruits, then reined in by mandarin notes. Lowish in acid, but it works. The finish started in the mid palate, then goes into slow motion, leading to a long, powerful finish (A-).

A little sweet without a completely balancing acidity, I think the warmer vintage may be showing through a touch. Nose was nice with tropical fruit, crushed rock, a touch of citrus. Palate was fairly rich for a spatlese but not cloying what so ever, acidity was decent but felt overshadowed by the sweetness and almost felt round (relative to riesling), still very youthful and not a lot of development, if you like mature riesling this is a definite hold for …

Wow that's excellent. I don't drink a ton of Spatlese these days, preferring lighter kabinett and even feinherb when I come across it, but this is awesome. Not discernibly sweeter than most kabinett, but full and creamy with excellent acid zip. Awesome. Locals store has these on the closeout shelf at $23 and I though I only grabbed one I might go back for a few more.

Weekly tasting group #170; First group dinner with a nice set of wines. : Just a few words; White fruits and some minerals in the bouquet. Same on the palate; pleasant sweetness and soft acidity. Easy, elegant and very clean. Ready now and the next 5+ years.

Straight from the bottle acidic and balanced with clear and pure riesling character. A bit muted nose. Taste is also acidic and balanced but a bit watery on the finish. Good but a bit one dimensional. An hour later it wakes up a bit and puts on weight, giving it more power and oomph. Like it, but let it rest 5-10 years to see what happens. 50+5+12+14+8 (89p)

A Visit To Fritz-Haag (Brauneberg, Germany) : Mineral scents of stones and cold streams are present while pure peach scents hide delicately in the background. Ripe peach shows quickly on the palate, backed by great green apple acidity. It's clean and clear all across with the mid palate sweetened by ripe peaches and spiced by gooseberries.

Room filling Bright candied pineapple, peach, and a bit of honey. I may smell a little noble rot too. Good mouthfeel with the pallet much like the nose. Very nice bottle. Excellent balance with enough acidity to carry it for what one would expect to be many years. Buy more!
