Another great bottle, consistent with my notes on two bottles enjoyed in April. Addendum: learned that this brand was produced and branded by Chauvenet of NSG.

Very consistent with previous bottles; floral, cured meats; rich fruit, firm structure yet balanced; ample acidity carries to a long finish. 93+

(93-94) My wine of the day- this took a bit of time to open in the glass (it was decanted a bit in advance). There is a good combination between the savory soy sauce type umami richness with a bit of tertiary sweetness now that makes this delightful- cocoa powder, iodine/blood, baking spice, a note of espresso and dark soil tones with some leather and sous bois throughout the nose and palate. Deeply fruited, smoke, slowly evolving nose of soy, beetroot; palate also slowly evolves with rich, dark fruit, classic old red burgundy savoriness; incense and black tea. Nothing shy here! 93+. Appears this is a unicorn in the CT universe.

I’ve had better bottles of this; surprisingly deep color; nose was all exotic spices and chocolate but totally devoid of fruit; umami and Asian flavor characteristics, tasting partner said “peanut sauce” so I’ll just declare it an off bottle though certainly drinkable.
