I pretty much always find Scheurebe interesting, and this example did not fail me. Aromas of oregano, sage, vague sweet floral stuff, grapefruit liqueur, lemon, hints of yellow peach and plum. Soft and medium-bodied, but not flabby. This could use more cut, but it is fresh enough, and I bet it would really sing with the right pairing. Slight olive straw color. Nose some funk, some wax. Palate initially closed but opens up with time and warming, a grassy note, a fleshy dry fruit presence with some melons. Interesting to try this varietal, tastes like a cross between dry riesling and sauvignon blanc to me. Agree with another taster that I'm not sure if there's any benefit to aging this necessarily. Better with food. 89 pts
