Domaine Hauvette Les Baux-de-Provence Cuvée Cornaline

I have found prior vintages to be more subtle, but this one is instantly likeable and fruit-forward. Very classy, refined, red and blue fruit, accented by red apple peel. Ultra fine, silky tannins. Soft and supple mouthfeel. The acidity is just brisk enough to cleanse the finish, while the fruit lingers for some time and morphs into hints of prune. Delicious and regal.

Beautiful wine. It was delicious upon opening and then tightened up before relaxing over several hours. Lots of herbs and earth - Garrigue, thyme lavender, berries. Changes over time, never fading. Superb with lamb stew

All notes of perfection. Age. Depth. Precision. Flavor. Even better on night 3. I wish this went on and on.

Garrigue, figs, smoke and leather. Maybe not as precise as other bottles I had in the past but still such a pleasure to drink. Masculine, a little rustic, very Provencal.

Had a heady nose of forest floor immediately upon opening. Lovely plush medium body. Far riper than I expected, with blue and dark red berry fruit that's explosively flavorful. Excellent acidity acts as counterpoint, and then the powerful terroir floods and envelops the palate. Herbal and earthy and minerally. Feels a bit hotter than its 13.5% ABV, but still very impressive.

Agree with I’d Rather Be Drinking Wine’s note. Constantly evolving in the glass. On opening, ripe earth, chalky cherry, black olive. With time, white pepper, garrigue, game meat, juicy red and black fruits, slight brine on the nose. Ends up (after 2-3 hour decant) very smooth and balanced.

Very nice wine in an old style Rhône.....not heavily extracted so the experience tends towards the herbal garrigue terroir side of things ... Nose is sage, nicely fruited though I can’t describe which...maybe plum.. Tongue is herbal, plum, tannic dryness, licorice finish.... Wonderful wine that leans away from fruit forward ... Echoing the previous reviewer, served warmer and the alcohol is present delicious wine!

Nose: sweet plum, dates, pepper, licorice, herbs, tabacco. Nice package although there is a hint of burned rubber, too. Palate: Again the sweet plum, a bit dried. Complemented by strawberries. And the peppery notes as well. But much more spices such as nutmeg. Also thyme. Served too warm so alcohol dominates a bit. But the tannins still give good stucture although they are ripe and smooth. Very good wine.
