Mas Coutelou Classe

Subtle fruity nose with a slightly candied aspect. Medium bodied, very smooth and juicy delivering crunchy dark berries with a gentle dusty bite on the finish. Quite pleasant. Had a glass at Latva Bar.

A hint of olives in the middle of sweet fruits: blueberry and strawberry. Some funk. A little plummy, it still shows a very good balance with no heat. Some herbs and blood orange notes. Throws a lot of sediment. A nice and juicy wine with decent enough structure.

You get a lot of wine for your money here: juicy, bit of grip and decent depth of flavour but also real energy and personality. We drank across two days: initially it was intensely savoury with lots of tapenade then on day two some bright-edged black fruit began to emerge with background ferrous notes. Really good.
