Lots (too much?) of vanilla on the nose. Bright red fruit and plenty of acidity left. Finish is a little sharp. Unfortunately, this completely lacks any charm and I suspect it will be more severe in the future - just doesn't have the balance or stuffing.

This was opened at the Benchland offline Wednesday. 1998 was a great vintage in Australia and this wine was holding up very well in my opinion. Pretty nose. Solid red color. I tried this toward the end of the night so I did not take extensive notes. A nice round texture and well balanced wine. 90-91 points.
