2 1/2 hour decant (mag decanter). Last bottle of this shared with my friend John of 3 Day Wine Review. Absolutely rocking tonight with cranberries initially and black cherries later on with strawberry hints. Lots of minerals and dust also present. Still showing great at 6 years of age (effectively 10 years of age with the big decant). Solid effort by Ladera.

Nice RRV Pinot found on WTSO at a QPR of $20. Not a bad wine at all that needs a little to open and once it does starts to shine. A really nice wine that would probably be best enjoyed sooner than later....I would say within the next year or so.

87-89: possibly a bit shocky, it's a modern-style pinot with a decent amount of oak. Color is fairly dark, and there's a funkiness in the mid-palate that could be from the PN clone used, but could also be a bit of Rhone varietals too. It's ok, much prefer the 2012 Experience from Last Bottle or the Paraiso from WTSO, both $5 less/bottle.

Raspberry-red color. Engaging aromas of brandy-soaked berries. Full flavors of dried olallieberry and cranberry with a touch of raisins. Oak is evident. A Pinot that features brawn over subtlety. Will be interesting to see how it develops in the future. Tasted several times.

Nose: Very pretty aromas with subtle florals, strawberry and pomegranate. Palate: Bright acids with tangy cherries, strawberry, pomegranate and a light to medium finish. While Californian this is really more Burgundian or Oregonian in style versus the typical RRV Pinot. As sellerscellar below notes this is a screaming QPR at only $20/bottle from WTSO. 91+ points.

Light to medium body, good balance between ripening fruit, light oak, mild tannins and bright acidity. Its red currant and wild strawberry flavors stick around for quite awhile.
