Beautiful complex bourbon This one is surprisingly sweet with mild spicy notes, when you might expect more smoke and tannic bite from the extra barrel time (especially given the char in the barrels). It's fruity, chocolatey, and a bit candied on the nose. Palate shows the same sweeter sides, along with some light spicing. Affordable enough for repeats, but not for everyday drinking.

Definitely a step up from the standard bottling, exceptionally smooth and rich, lots of depth, dried fruits, and a bold finish. Not sure it’s worth the price over the regular bottling, but very good.

Compared to the standard Woodford Reserve, this is a darker, more complex nose and taste. The nose is oaky and vanilla, leaning more towards a scotch than the typical bourbon. Taste is a nice balance of earthy oak, yet vanilla and underlying butterscotch comes through. Very smooth and would consider this more of a dessert bourbon comparatively. I typically prefer scotch, and think this is my favorite of the two Woodford's I've tried.

Meh, I mean it's clearly in the Brown Forman family profile but I wasn't blown away. Bigger fan of Old Forester personally.

Nice but has this weird collapsing mid palate even if pleasantly warming the back of the throat. At this price point it's good but not amazing.

Tasted vs e h Taylor small batch. The double oak is darker brown in color while the Taylor is orange-ish. The depth and sweetness of the woodford came across almost like great rum. Impressive. It made the Taylor taste austere. The Taylor certainly has greater complexity, however. The woodford is a marvel and noticeably better than prior to the relaunch.

Deep amber colored, with a thick oily viscosity Smoked oak barrels, candy apple, burnt sugar Sweet, stewed apples, caramel, medium+ belly burn, long finish Relatively smooth sipper that lights a fire in ones gut. Good for cold, moon-lit nights out on the open plane.

Color: Light golden honey. Aroma: Soft and nutty with a malty grain note sweetened with apple fruit, hints of spun sugar, cooked sugar and vanilla. Glimpses of cedar and clove spiciness through a delicate veil of oak smoke. Flavor: Shortbread and a subtly cool lemon custard note are lightly spiced and dried with a dash of white pepper. Finish: Long and slightly dry with a lingering sweet, buttery texture.

Amber +3 color. Nose: Caramel, toffee, peanut brittle. Thick mouth feel, quite sweet and having flavors close to El Dorado 12y Rum. None of the spirit-y and apple-peach taste of the standard bottling from this distillery. Cinnamon appears in a rather short finish. A nice dram for sipping, but one that disappears in cocktails; little dull for my taste for $50+ Bourbon.
