Double decanted for 2 hrs, deep ruby, black cherries & raspberries, med/firm tannins, long finish; outstanding & WOTN against good competition, drink or preferably hold for another year or 3

Inky dark mouth, almost like a petit syrah. Nose is dark berries and marjoram long finish. Could use some more age. Next day- violets on the nose. Still inky dark could still open up more. But great signs for how this will be in 5-10 years.

Amazing bottler of wine to go with an amazing dinner cooked at home. Deep dark black ink look to this wine. Lots of notes of raspberries, cassis, blueberries. Note the leather characteristics were beginning to come out. Tannins had subsided and as this BOND opened up it got more pleasurable to drink! Great wine as always.

Pretty medium garnet. Vanilla cream with raspberries on the nose. Sweet cream on the attack followed by spices raspberries leading into milk chocolate, cocoa powder, hibiscus petals, and a little funk into a lengthy finish. Very soft texture.

Not a fan. Bit jammy and hot. Have enjoyed many Bond but not this one.

Deep ruby but not opaque. Minty nose. Lush and mouth coating but balanced and not overripe. Distinctive blueberry fruit, round, smooth tannins. Very nice and accessible now.

In the 2009 Bond lineup, Melbury comes off as the most feminine, elegant of the 5 wines. Very approachable at this age, lighter weight and more aromatically developed, with a spicy, gentle nose. Dark purple, aromas are slightly floral over black cherry with nuanced fruit, cedarwood, leather and toffee. Medium bodied and really delicious now. A wine to drink on the young side. It actually reminds me of Margaux in some ways.

AHA Hearts Delight - USA Wine Tasting : Tannins 7/10 - This was significantly fruitier than the Vecina and after the Vecina it actually felt too sweet. Lighter on the tannins and aging potential concerned me.
