Belle minéralité. Très belle longueur. Acidité en équilibre avec la charpente du vin.

I think this represents well just about everything I can reasonably expect from an Ontario chardonnay of quality. My advice to those experimenting is to jump straight to this to judge the area, then move on.

An interesting Chardonnay, with notes of minerals, flowers and apples. The fruit is quite juicy, with some residual sweetness on the finish. The wine will stand up to short term cellariing, but I'm not sure it will improve with age.

This bottle may have been slightly flawed. There was a distinctive mushroom flavor that one typically sees in well aged Chardonnay, but shouldn't show up in a wine that's only three years old. I suspect the bottle was a bit oxydized. However, I looked beyond that and found some good notes of minerals and pears. I have one more bottle and will try that soon to see how it fairs.

Generally LCJ wines score higher for us, but this one started out a bit rough, with some unusual notes for the varietal, very good, but not in the 'outstanding' realm that we've experienced before with this winery, perhaps in a 'dumb' phase? - Light gold, medium bodied with a nose of petrol, vaseline, apple, pear, caramel, butterscotch and vanilla, interesting, balanced, sweet on the palate with good length (87 Points).

Servi à l'apéro après un Mumm Napa. Bu sur 1 h30, vraiment délicieux.

WINEMAKER’S NOTES Located just 300 meters east of our Le Clos Jordanne Estate Vineyard, Claystone Terrace is essentially a mirror image of Le Clos Jordanne Vineyard, separated by a thin, treed ravine. The wine, however, could not be more different in style. The beauty of the bench’s variety of soils is apparent in this more masculine Chardonnay: from the moment you put your nose in the glass, you can sense the virility and minerality of this wine. Crisp, delicious. Keeps one coming back for another sip. Perfect cocktail party wine; food-friendly and impresses all by itself.

Nice, but have had many better examples of Niagara Chard - Deep gold, full bodied with a nose of pear, peach, caramel, butterscotch and vanilla, decent structure and intensity, good balance, dry, smooth on the finish with good length, very nice (88 Points).

Subtle oak, very high minerality, overall very good.

Deep straw; caramel, creme brule, pineapples; buttery, toasty, tropical fruit, medium body, decent acidity, lingering finish. Butter and oak overwhelmed the fruit. Good structure and finish but not my favourite from lcj.
