7 years in the bottle and it's still a bit eye-watering upon opening. Mellowed out in an hour or so. Blackberry fruit, and plenty of it, then some oak and leather. Good BBQ wine.

Not great..seems a little watery despite the high alcohol content. Finish is muted and unbalanced. Ok but not worth the price.. PP should stick to Pinot...

While this does not need time to age, it absolutely needs some air. My first taste was a blast of Port-like notes and cough syrup. As soon as the alcoholic whiff blew off, this actually was quite nice. Sure still a pretty big Zin but it has some balance. Dark fruit, spice. What else are you expecting?

Interesting... The Papapietro Perry Zin was very good when tasted at the winery but this one started off a little Robitussin-ish. Certainly not what I think of when tasting a Dry Creek Zin, but more Amador. It took me some time to recalibrate my taste buds, it settled down after some air and was pretty good when paired with BBQ pork. Worth a second shot...

Nose not OTT and subtle, palate much more in your face with classic zin flavours. Cherry juice, plum, X-mas spices. It manages to keep some freshness and the lengh is actually not bad at all. Drink up. +++

If you're looking for a big Zin, this is not it. This is a lovely, delicate Zin. Subtle nose. Very nice flavors emerge as you swallow. Wonderful finish.

Let sit a few minutes to allow the initial high alcohol to dissipate. Then enjoyed a nice Zin with flavors of pomegranate and a tanginess (possibly plum). This is crafted with a style of subtle fruit, rather than a fruit-bomb.

Love this lighter style of zin. Delicate red fruit, subtle spice on the nose with floral notes on the finish. Delightful.

I thought this wine went well with bbq burgers. A heavier wine with nice fruit and a smooth finish.

Could use a little more aging but overall was very pleased with it

Peppery spicy nose, rich depth, little bit of residual sugar, great fruit, less alcohol burn.

Full ruby color. Nose: wild blackberry, boysenberry, and black cherry with accents of cocoa powder, vanilla cream, orange peel, rose petals, and black tea. Medium body on the palate: blackberry, boysenberry, blood orange, and black cherry framed by rose petals, strawberry candy, black tea, vanilla cream, cocoa powder, and white pepper. Medium+ acidity. Lighter tannins. Lingering berry skin, rose petals, white pepper, and black tea on the moderate finish. Notable for juicy, high-toned fruit and silky texture. Drink now.

Gorgeous jammy nose with plum, orange, and very mild leather. Very dark ruby in the glass. Delicious fruit with a minimum of tannin. For a 2009, this drinks VERY well now. Want some more!!!!!

Fruit is masked by high alcohol and makes me think 2009 Robitussin would go better with food. PPP needs some work on this one or drop it all together and focus on the great work they do with pinots. Please don't send this stuff on to your loyal members.

Bright and jammy, with solid spice backbone. Definitely opens up full throttle and finishes with a touch of heat. B+

Very light style zinfandel. Cherry with white pepper. Kind of tasted like a heavy pinot instead of a zin.

Made in a lighter style, more in line with their Pinots. Definitely not a fruit bomb. Refreshing and quite enjoyable.
