appearance in the glass is reminiscent of a burgundy. bouquet is delicate, mineral, floral. palate has nice balance, some tart red berry fruit, nice acidity, texture is supple, glycerin, savoury sanguine flavours and tannin build toward the med to long finish on an attractive saline note. v nice with food and i would venture to say it will comfortably hold for several years.

From the Monteguerdica contrada at 730 meters, from 70 year old Nerello Mascalese vines. This was the first vintage and was aged for 14 months in 2nd and 3rd year oak. Light ruby in color with medium+ intensity on the nose. Sour cherries, cranberry, rooibos tea, smokiness, nutmeg, flint, some licorice.
