This ended up being my WOTY, it was just absolutely stunning over the couple nights drunk. Must find more of this, in any iteration!

Drank with Tryons at home after Caymus tasting. Shockingly good. Interesting flavor profile without tannic hammer. May need to try more PS.

Drink now. High alcohol now shows above blueberry jam. Very long finish.

Deep, dark, almost opaque ruby-purple. Ripe and full bodied but not overly so despite the listed 16.1% ABV. Meatiness and dark fruit flavors with persistent tannins. A bit of a rustic profile but tasty. Definitely age-worthy but drinking reasonably well now.

Wow! This is an amazing Petite Syrah! VERY inky when rolled I the glass. Lots of dark fruit; pomegranate, black cherry, and leather. A very nice finish including moderate tannins and a dusty cap. Wish I had bought more!

Inky, glass staining, opaque purple. Dark purple legs fall slowly revealing moderate+ viscosity. fresh berry aromas of blueberry, huckleberry and blackberry are seasoned with chocolate sandalwood, nutmeg, black licorice and vanilla cream that are intoxicating. On the palate, decadent, rich and ripe fruit flavors of blueberry, marionberry, huckleberry and blackberries are coated with nutmeg, vanilla, melted black licorice and chocolate. The mid palate is dense with moderate/moderate-plus acidity. The moderate chocolatey tannins leave the sense of cocoa powder on the …

Honeymoon Wine Tasting; 6/25/2012-7/3/2012 (California - Napa & Sonoma Counties) : Tasted at Winery. 79% Syrah, 21% Cab Sauv (sourced from Oak Knoll AVA). Very dark red/purple in color, with moderately intense aromas of dark fruit and ripe juicy red berries. The flavors were mostly bright fruit with mild tannins. The finish was long but still simple, dominated by the fruit with some slight spiciness. This one needs 2+ yrs.
