Vampire Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Paso Robles

Opened, poured thru aerator into my glass, and drank. Very simple wine, not as tasty as I'd hoped it would be, finish is disappointing. Hard to believe this came from one of my most favored Paso Robles areas. I guess you find one bad egg once in awhile... glad it was value priced.

got this as gift last halloween and open it this year and was pleasantly surprised.

I bought this for Halloween last year and the botle we drank then was fair at best. The additional year really improved this wine. It now has a great boquet (I can smell it even with a cold). It is much bolder and has an essence of blackberries. Over the last week I have paired it with pizza, sushi, raw milk cheese and roasted chicken and it paired well. Smell of cassis and earth. Highly acidic in the mouth (heh. Vampire has bite.), but not full of flavor. Finish added the acidity, with strong, rough tannins.
