Château des Charmes Merlot St. David's Bench Vineyard

The first of a number of wines drank at the Charles Inn at NOTL that were frankly less than stella, this one was not bad, but I expected a bit more from the stellar '07 vintage - Dark, medium/full bodied with a nose of plum, vegetation, tobacco, cherry, dust and vanilla, decent structure, will probably age well, a bit young now, grippy, dry, dusty on the palate with good length (85 Points).
