Pott Wine Cabernet Sauvignon Kaliholmanok

Reiterating my notes from last month. Simply put a great wine.

Once again this is drinking so beautifully right now. It is well balanced and has tannins in check. Once again blueberry pie with the crust and all of its creamy contribution to the fruit. The wine is delicious and worth finding. Frankly one of my favorites in the Aaron, Claire & kids collection of wines.

Opened for 3 hours prior to drinking. Nice.

Wow..... this is drinking so absolutely great right now. It is nearly perfectly balanced and so smooth. In check tannins and acidity. It is harmonious in delivering a blueberry pie forward creamy textured juice. So..... awesome and so..... rich. Deserves a higher score but I am reluctant to go more than 3 points above the current consensus of 93.4. Find some and review as it deserves better.

PnP'd - fruit forward, dark fruit flavors. Full bodied, silky, medium to long finish. Really good. Will improve with years & better care next time(decant/air).

Pop and pour. Wrong idea. This is huge and needs time or air. Double decanted twice and it was enjoyable. Needs time.

Pop and pour. This is a very fruit forward and lush wine. Tannins are on the softer side for a new vintage. Guessing more of a vintage characteristic. A few hours of air helped flesh this out a bit. I’d say the 15’s are more of an earlier drinker.

Very impressive wine. Drank alongside a 2013 Darioush and for most of the night the Pott was the clear favorite. No formal notes on my part, but the Kaliholmanok was complex, fruit forward... and very young. Unfortunately this was my only bottle, but without doubt my favorite Pott wine to date.

Musty earth and espresso, with a pure, black cherry core of fruit is at the hear of this wine. Mountain fruit, flowers and a gentle softness to the tannins makes an interesting combination. From there, you also find ripe, smoke, black and blue fruits, concentration of flavor, energy and elegant tannins. In 2015, here, you find more balance than density, making this that lets this be fun to taste early in the life.
