Still fresh and lively. Dark color. Dark fruits, tobacco and chocolate. Medium finish with a lovely sweetness.

Drinking well at pop and pour with a nice fruit nose and slightly reductive red fruit. Good acid and tannin level for pairing with a nice red sauce.

2005 vintage

Decanted 3 hrs. Opaque, almost black. Bq w chocolate, pipe tobacco, blackberries, dark cherries, touch of herbs (laurel), some oak. Full body w sandy tannins, good acidity, plenty of jammy fruit (cherries, plums). Lavender in background. Good balance. Excellent until you reach the aftertaste, which isn't very long and has no complexity. Is perhaps just past its peak, but nowhere near old age. Considering its price (16 euros in 2010), an absolute steal!!

Perfectly sound and lively. Rich dark fruit, smooth texture, good acidity, overall quite clean flavors per Cottarella's wine-making. Great match with wine braised lamb in anchovies and a little crushed red pepper, duck fat roasted potatoes. It's had plenty of time to develop, but didn't offer anything breathtakingly tertiary so we will drink a second cellared bottle soon.

Paired well with eggplant parmigiana. Acid is starting to get more pronounced than fruit.

Finally the fruit's starting to fade and the blackened oak takes over the picture - charcoal, tar, heavy-toast coffee, liquorice, a general woodiness and saltiness. Goes quite well with an entrecôte, but comes across as overly oaked on its own.

Very nice. Feels old school in ways, modern in others. The fruit is bordeaux-like with cassis and plum, but even though there is licorice, tobacco, and smoky notes there I don't really get any barrique-feeling.. This is more herbal, the flavors have serious depth, the tannins grip you tight but hold you close with warmth rather than ringing the living hell out of you. Outstanding. Had the 2006 at a restaurant, and little brother isn't bad either.

Bdx-like nose with liquorice, charcoal, tobacco, cedar, plum and cassis. Any cabernet in there? Extremely good structure and stuffing for a wine at this price bracket. Not overpowered by wood, which can be a problem in Feudi's top bottlings. Walks and talks like a powerful bdx, works very well with our grilled porc. Still on its way up, this 05 will cruise for years in the cellar.

Gorgeous nose, big and powerful fruits. Though palate doesn't quite have the same power. More on the light side but with very nice cherries and a decent finish. Not a whole lot of complexity but drinks very nicely. Will need to see how this evolves in the glass. Day 2 and this didn't get any better, in fact it has gotten worse. A vey hollow mid palate to a zero finish. Dissapointing.

What is the English word for "zondoorstoofd" black fruit. Sun stewed? Full of ripe black fruit. I liked it quite a lot. But this is more a wine for a windy autumn evening.

Red/black, high density, blue reflexions. Dark pipe tobacco, dark cocolate, tarry/toasty notes, and vanilla - a straightforward good oak treatment. Topnotes of fresh herbs like oregano and sage. Black pepper, dark plum and dark cherry fruit with a lining of cassis. Finally more oak, slightly floral and cedary. Dark red fruits, mocha, leather, and spice. Moderate acidity. Velvety tannins upfront lead to a mouth-drying, yet flavorful, medium-plus length finish. Drink now and over the next 2-3 years.

Campania Trip : Medium dark, bright red. Super expressive even at this tender age, showing lots of spicy oak. Fairly rich flavors are better balanced, finishing in a wall of tannin.
