Cassis, black cherry, coffee and milk chocolate dominates a quite complex nose. Very fragrant and pleasant. Silky, lean and yet powerful on the palate. Stony minerality and crunchy tannins. Fruity and salty with a fresh long ending. Quite a development. As hoped in earlier note. But still with potential for further development

Blueberry, menthol, ash, a slight alcohol burn, but fairly well integrated overall. This is drinking nicely now, but probably better in 2-3 years, will try to hold remaining bottles until then. Good QPR from WTSO a few years back.

Brought to Steve and Patty’s for a rosemary chicken dinner. Not much change from the TN almost 2 years ago. Writing mostly to say that we gave this about 90 minutes of air, and at this point, I’m not sure this needs it. Mature, well-balanced, solid if not exceptional with food and without. I’d put this mid to late drinking window, and would say to drink now to the next couple of years. 91 if scoring.

MR. SLATE's tasting note is apt.

This was a very pleasant wine to sip on the patio during an unusually mild summer afternoon. The primary flavors were of black cherry, chocolate, and (unusually, for a RdD) banana (!), but there were hints of orange peel and leather. The tannins and acidity were perfectly balanced. Sadly, this was our last bottle. QPR was excellent @ $22 from WTSO.

We drank this without a decant, which was a mistake, as it took a while to open. Otherwise it was fine.

Deep color. Cedar, menthol, and light spice/white pepper on the nose. Bright fruit, wet stone on the palate. Lingering dry finish with some acidity. Good juice!

We drank one of these last night without a decant, and it was ready to go. It featured deep and intense black cherry, fine lingering tannins, appropriate acidity, and nuances of cinnamon and vanilla. There were perhaps hints of camphor and orange peel on the nose. The wine was not especially complex, but what it did, it did well. The QPR was very good at $20 from WTSO.

Very good. Expect it will mature well over two years or more.

3rd bottle out 4, brought to a lovely dinner with my sis. Opened for about 45 minutes before consuming. Generally consistent with my 9/14/20 TN, but more elegant and less rustic. Still not the most powerful or complex, but really well balanced, and rock solid on its own and a great match with chicken and lamb kebabs and grilled veggies. Solid step above where it was 8+ months ago, and although I'm not sure what the upside is from here, …

Nice and juicy with some cedar and mineral notes, gravel. Dark and medium bodied, a nice wine with plenty of life in it.

Really tight from the PnP - nose with lots of secondary notes you expect from Ribera. Lots of leather, saline, some floral notes, but doesn't exhibit much fruit. Palate was astringent and unyielding at first, but did open. Fruit never really came through. Good, but leans much more towards Old World than I expected. Resalte's wines are built to last, so my guess is this bottle is very young and will evolve significantly over the next 5 years.

For price this wine is wonderful. I feel it will get better over time. Fruity and still young tannins should mellow and give way to a more earthy tones in next couple of years.

Really warm oak and baking spices on the nose, opened up to red and black fruit. Would be great for several years

Praelum - Resalte Tasting (Praelum Wine Bistro) : Deep purple, homogeneous, very slight edge fading, viscous, and high extraction. Nose of ripe blackberry, vanilla, paprika, and slight caramel and coffee. Tannic, some acids, full-bodied, and high alcohol heat. Flavours of ripe, even jammy blackberry, and a bit of savouriness, hazelnuts. Short and simplistic finish though

Rich, bold and with an excellent mouthfeel, this is an impressive offering from the RDD region. Solid QPR at $20 from WTSO. Definite rebuy.

Little disappointed based on Parker’s and Spectator’s reviews. Nice wine but a bit thin.

First of 4 ($19.99@) from the online wine clearinghouse. I'm not necessarily a lover of tempranillos, but this got a great WS review, solid TNs and at a great price, was worth a spin; while my knowledge of Iberian wines isn't great, if I could fake my way through the Quinto a month or so ago, this would be a breeze. 30-45 minutes of non-decanted air. Medium nose dominated by mixed berry compote, dry earth and spice, with a gravelly …

Rich with fruit and mineral, with a cool backdrop. Solidity in the mouth, well balanced between fruit and tannin. Long, square-shouldered finish. Really well-made but not big on elegance. Very good now but will improve for 4-5 years.

Very enjoyable wine that delivered what I expect from Ribero Del Duero. Full red and black fruit with some grain on the tannin. Would buy again

Deep purple. Nose dominated by dark berries and coffee. Also earth and oak aromas. The palate is dry and quite grippy. Long finish. Still too young for my taste. Will wait 3-4 years for my next bottle but I expect it will develop quite nicely.
