Didn’t sit that comfortably with me. Midweight, plenty of reductive notes that muddled the flavours somewhat. Hmmm.

True peppery. Full mouth fruity shiraz. Balanced , fresh and delicious. Drinking well.

This was initially a little closed and dry on opening but blossomed in the glass with lovely supple fruit and smoothness from ageing. Colour was still deep red, not showing signs of old age. Suspect it will keep for a few years yet.

Clear dark purple red in appearance with a clear watery edge. Initially the nose was reticent but after 30 minutes of aeration the red and blue fruits began to emerge with lots of meaty, animal characteristics, accented by menthol, cedar and vanilla. The palate is towards the fuller-end of the medium-bodied spectrum and initially quite rich, spicy, with lots of cedar, oak and vanilla characteristics shortly after opening. However, a few hours later in the evening as I re-tasted in …

This has more regional than varietal character. It’s a nice enough wine for the price point, it’s not unenjoyable, it’s just a bit anonymous. Haven’t yet come across a Margaret River Shiraz worth noting, which to be honest, is a fool’s errand with so much quality Cabernet on offer.

Game of Rhones (Carriageworks, Redfern) : Closed, muted, meaty black fruit, slight salinity. Fleshy and juicy, almost too acidic, there is a certain sharpness here, meaty and peppery with chalky tannins but lacks a bit of fruit on the palate

I did not like the nose - old wet newspaper. Otherwise, this isn't a typical Shiraz, as it is lighter in character, with a lot of red fruits, and a hint of vanilla and oak. Quite one dimensional, and the finish wasn't great. I blended it for 45 seconds. Disappointing! Used to love it before.

Still very closed. Sweet fruit, but more to come.

This is the 3rd time I'm drinking this wine in 2 weeks. Very Smooth, fresh red and purple fruits, almost Pinot Noir like. However, it wasn't too impressive today because I merely popped and poured and did not decant. I figured that this would taste best after 2 hours of decanting.

Beautiful flowery aroma, very smooth, like a Pinot Noir. Drank it after decanting it for 1.5 hours and served chilled. Enjoyed it! A wine that impressed several friends of mine.

A very unusual Shiraz. Extremely smooth wine, very easy to drink, lots of sweet red currants and cranberries, very subtle spice, almost like a merlot or masculine Pinot Noir! The fragrance was heavenly - very flowery! I would have failed guessing the grape if this wine was used in a blind tasting. Overall, I enjoyed it. It would definitely surprise Aussie wine lovers!

Deja Vu Trade Tasting (The four seasons hotel, the rocks, sydney) : black fruit underpinned by black pepper. Spice and more of the same on the palate. A little simple for what it is. The tannins are fine but intrusive on the finish. If anything I'd say it lacked soul…whatever that means.

Lifted cherry, cooked plum, brambley on the nose. Palate had good balance, summer fruits, plenty of Shiraz spice with a cedary punch from the oak.

Tasted at 2012 Voyager Estate Masterclass, Taxi Dining Room, Melbourne. Kirsch, bubblegum, blueberries, savoury, earthy, well rounded, subtle tannin on finish. This wine didn't really grab my attention, but was still reasonable.

Voyager Estate Masterclass 2012 (Officers mess, Victoria Barracks, Oxford Street, Sydney) : Nose medium minus intensity, clean and developing. Cedar wood, cream, slight black fruit and touches of red currant over black pepper and slight caramel Mouth juicy black fruit, tight, tannic grip, dry savoury and spice. It’s a little old school new world, but very nice none the less. Well balanced
