Been cellared for a year and a half after purchase, what a surprisingly good transformation.

Different in style than the others, lighter in scale but still fleshy. The black fruit profile isn't jammy, and it has nice purity. Good stuff. B+

Another very nice showing for this favorite Woodenhead zinfandel. Vibrant dark purple color. Lots of black fruits with anise, brown sugar & even white stone fruit on the nose. Almost a bit sweet on the palate with an excellent well of black fruit flavors and a touch of raisin, very nicely integrated with a finish providing olive notes. Much more comparable to a bottle consumed seven months ago than one poured recently.

Fabulous, sexy, voluptuous stuff right out of the bottle. Beautiful ruby-purple color. A big, lush, extravagant nose, lots of nice ripe blackberries along with raisins and a brown sugar note. Amazingly, the palate is even more expressive than the aromatics, with intense flavors of blackberry liqueur and more raisins. Finishes with a bit of dusty underbrush and some creamy oak, very long and thoroughly palate-coating. Not heavy, hot or over-extracted in any way, just a big ol' ripe Zin that …
