no decant. notes from memory: aromas of earth, funk and a bit of game/ meat and some floral aromas lingering in the back ground. On the palate this showed loads of red fruit. 88-89

Popped & poured and I got half a glass before my dinner guests killed the bottle. That's what I get for being a good host :) Nice nose and palate of cherries and kola nut spice. Light bodied but not thin and watery with a good finish for a pinot. Definitely approachable now, not sure what longer aging might do. I paid $25 which is a bit high for a village level Burg but I would recommend this wine over …

Light in appearance w more body and flavor than expected. Very floral but also grounded in earthiness. Very good.

Allow me to be the first... Upon a recommendation, I opened this now vs. cellaring this wine. Light Pinot style, but with beautiful light-sturdy body. Typical Burgundy Pinot (light floral notes, light cassis, purity, fruit with light almost animal notes already) - very nice, subtle. Persistence. Sure it will age, but it can be appreciated now in its younger state. Recommended.
