A lovely wine, great QPR even when considering the ridiculously elevated restaurant price, don't buy the CT drinking window on this, it still has plenty of life - Dark, well concentrated with a nose of plum, cherry, spice and vanilla, interesting complexity, nicely balanced, structured with a silkiness on the palate with very good length (91 Points).

Inky purple in the glass, the nose is of black cherries, blueberries, and a touch of both earth and funk. The attack on the palate is vigorous, with a crescendo of black and blue fruits, amidst excellent baking spice, well-integrated tannins, and a satisfying finish. Quite an accomplishment at its pricepoint, and we enjoyed with spicy 5-cheese ravioli, marinary, and Italian sausage; was an excellent pairing.

Deep red color. Fruit forward scent. Big, round, velvety, palate with good tannins and finish.

Ripe berries and full bodied. Still hints of tannins but generally a smooth finish. Great for the price.

I think I prefer Bonarda as a blending wine rather than a varietal. It's silky, fruity, and full-bodied, but low in acidity and tannins are soft. Kind of like a Carmenere? People who like old-world style reds will hate this. People who like lush and easy-drinking wines should give it a try, especially at the price.

I really, really liked this, fabulous quality for $15 and the comparisons to Zin were bang on - Very dark purple, extreme concentration with notes of spice, blackberries, bramble and vanilla oak on the nose, big fruit but balanced with an excellent finish (90 Points).
