Domaine Roger Neveu Sancerre Rosé

This Pinot Noir rosé shows more unripe pink grapefruit than anything else. Quite dry and austere, it doesn't indicate much in the way of Pinot Noir fruit. But if you think of it as an unaged dry still Champagne, it becomes more "understandable". (In the words of Alsatian vintner Albert Seltz, "There is no wine that you do not like, only wine that you do not understand.") Maybe it just needs some time to soften and open up.

Full bottle 1333g. Pale peach-blush color. Moderately intense aromas of candied berries, dry pine needles, new books. Dry, with moderate fresh acidity, moderately intense flavors of red fruit and orange zest, some refreshing bitterness on the moderately long finish, medium-bodied, 13% abv. Nice, not exciting.
