Vaglio, Aggie Malbec, Uco Valley

Medium nose gives sour cherry, black plum, rocky sense. Palate has nice spice layers, black fruit, anise, dried blackberry, crushed violets, hint of graphite. Has a nice sense of freshness, clean layers, medium tannins, medium plus alcohol, nice value.

We found the Vaglio acceptable but undistinguished and at this price point not a great value. I found it intense but dense, and I struggled to distinguish flavors that seemed jammed together or other likable characteristics. Well, there's still half of this bottle plus one more, which I may let age for a few years ... to take some of the density off, at the risk of disappointment. Better yet to a potluck and watch: Am I missing something?

Great value for the price. Not overly complex or intense but smooth and tasty. I will buy again.
