Score fairly high based on QPR. Really a fantastic wine for $16 retail. Blackberry, tar, violets, crunchy, fresh, just complex enough to get you to buy his higher end bottlings. His Castrillo is in the same style, adding wood and complexity without any of the freshness being lost. Open 2 hours before! It helps to blow off the slight funk.

Slow ox'ed for a couple of hours. Has a diffused dark garnet-ruby in colour. Nose of berries, plums, with some dried violets. Getting some black cherries with some other berry fruits along with some hints of vanilla and herbs with some chewy tannins on the palate. Medium bodied with a medium finish. Great qpr bottle.
