Ripe, big, jammy. Notes of clove, raspberry ganache, pine, spices and some dark ripe cherries. Bold, a little hot finish. Modern; a Pinot for Cab lovers

Very dark ruby for a Pinot-seems to be aging quickly. typical SLH with cola, dark cherry nose. Not earth. On the second day, more of the fruit emerged for a fruit forward, upfront wine with no mid palate and then too much cola and a too tart acid on the finish which was also too astringent with tannin and not PN elegance or silkiness. A genuine disappoint as I am a fan of the producer and the vineyard, but this …

Classic Patz & Hall house style of pinot. This is bigger, lush and a touch sweeter(a pinot sauternes) than their regular SC bottling. As another taster commented on what the winemaker is try to do, it's not traditional nor French in style. It's their own house style. But, I have to admit I like it. I also get why some people will hate it. 92/93

Tasted at the 2013 New York Wine Experience deep red color; nose round and full, well developed. On palate also quite round with plenty of stuffing. A noticeable bitterness creeps in at the finish that disturbs the overall positive impression.

Sweet is a word I would use for this wine, Patz and Hall makes many, many fantastic Pinots, I have drank quite a few of them. This isn't one of them of them. This is neither a classic California Pinot or Pinot in the Burdandy style, I guess I don't understand what the winemaker was doing here. I have another couple bottles of this wine, they will more then likely be gifted out.

Not your typical pinot - thought it was a bad bottle at first. Full-bodied red and dark fruit, very sweet with a rich finish. Would have guessed Amarone if tasted blind. Noted more nuances after it was opened a while, but still mostly sweet fruit. Glad we had this at the end of the evening, as it was a nice dessert wine. Maybe it could use more time. Scored well for me mainly because of its unique character.

Dark purple with long port port like legs in the glass, which makes you ask "Is this a Pinot Noir?" Very sweet and fleshy; in excess of 14.5% alcohol. A full blown New World pinot with elements of an Amarone, BUT there was some minerality and earthiness to give the wine some layers and interest. Soft tannins. Kind of controversial for a Pinot. I enjoyed it as kind of a one off, or maybe this is the New World Pinot …

Patz & Hall Wines (Bloomington, MN) : One of the best in the Patz's lineup. Spice, floral, earth and cinnamon. The fruit is there but more of a earth based wine. This wine needs some cellaring and should drink well for ten years.

Sweet, sweet, sweet. I tasted this wine in the tasting room and loved it. Opening a bottle at home now 5 months later it is so sweet and ripe. It's almost syrupy. The nose was heady with fruit and spice and I'm enjoying it but it is WAY TOO sweet on the palate for my liking. given a little time it opens to more spice and complexity but that sweetness turned me off a little.

Very funky on the nose & almost stinky. Light entry that is cool & flows inot a flinty black fruit finish that shows a little alcohol burn. OK.
