This did age well and could possibly continue to do so. Has changed since it was young (when it was also excellent). Nose of tomato leaves, rhubarb and clay. Good acid in the mouth - not big but a good food wine - with red peppers, 95% dark chocolate and slight fennel. Medium length finish with medium roast coffee grounds and radish after the heat has dissipated.

Yummy definitely upgraded my frozen Indian dinner. Big tannins that coat your teeth and dye your lips. tart. Dark fruits hiding in the mist. Opaque garnet. Had the 17 and it was good. I think this is better buying the 19 while it is still available.

Back to California for the deep red, juicy fruit. Big everything here but all balanced. Almost iridescent purple. Fruity nose of mainly blueberries. Blueberries on the tongue and lots of tannins with no oaky taste.

Dark red in the glass. Medium body. Minimal burn of alcohol. Very easy drink from beginning to end. Very good purchase for 9-10 dollars

Impulse purchase @ Costco (14.8% abv - $9) Opened one hour before serving at room temp w/entrée of Lasagne, Caprese Salad & Garlic Bread. Dark cherry opaque red on the pour. Elegant nose of cherry, spice. Hearty and Full-bodied; Dark Cherry, Plum and Pepper on the palate. Prominent Tannin, maybe a little 'woody,' leaving a little fuzziness on the tooth. A bit harsh, not quite rounded or smooth enough to warrant a higher rating but may smooth out with some …

We liked this wine. Big flavors- but not overpowering. Well balanced. For the pricie - circa $12 - you can not beat it. It is well balanced. Orders another six bottles.

Dark and a little heavy for a petit Syrah. Fruity with some tannins but not too overpowering. Good with meats or anything with lots of spices. Maybe even something actually spicy.

Decant this one for sure. Fruit forward with low tannins. Slight mineral. Well balanced, unique for a Petite Sirah.

Fine grained tannins. Fairly bold for a Petit Sirah. Long finish.

Well balanced. Fruity but not too much. Just right amount of tannin. Would buy again.

Love this Petite Sirah! Well balanced, enough oak to soften the dark fruit flavors, but still very fruit forward. The color is a deep ruby, almost chocolate. High in tannin, but not overly acidic. Alcohol content is high, as most good Petite Sirah are, but does not take away from the dark fruit, cocoa, and cigar box flavor.

Big nose of baking spices and baked pastry when swirled. Sweet featuring black fruit strongly on the palate. Quite a bit of tanin and moderate acidity. Well balanced, featuring many subtle aromas and flavors. Very tasty Petite Sirah.

Terrific PQR at state monopoly price of $10. Fairly big, warm wine with good fruit and structure.

Opaque deep purple -- looks like Welch's grape juice. Solid core of dark fruit, but packs a wallop of tannins. Acidity is moderate and does help with balance a bit, but the overall impression leans toward sweet. This is stern enough that it seems like it may need time, but I suspect it lacks the stuffing to go more than a few years. So if you like your Petites big and powerful, may as well get in here now.

Big Petite and tasty too. Petite and Barbera were my two favorites.

Dark ruby, bit of tannin, little strong, not bad for $10. I liked it a bit more than Shirley

Very tannic on day 1. Good fruit but not yet balanced. Drinking well right now after some time to open up. I will give this a couple years to rest then it should improve.
